If you have selected one of the preformatted templates available.. and created other pages... or categories and notice your template on those pages does not match your main page.. go back and edit those pages or categories and unselect a template for each of them.. they will automatically use the template you selected for your whole site then.
Unless you want a page to look different then the rest of your website only choose a template under templates in the storeadmin
